There was a break in the rain, and snow, here in London so I decided to spend an afternoon at Beckenham Palace Park.

Beckenham Place Park was formerly a golf course before being converted into a public park in 2019. It’s the largest park in South East London with London’s first lake built for swimming.

The Masion on site typically offers many activities and inside you can find a bar and cafe. While this is currently closed there are many benches and picnic tables throughout the park.
I mentioned the break in the rain, well there was still residual moisture in the grass resulting in quite a bit of mud. So pro tip, wear proper shoes and not your favorite vans.

While your there keep your head up for the infamous parakeets of London. Rumor has it a few parakeets escaped from a movie set in the 50’s. There are a few wild parrots in SF so seeing these reminded me of home.
The regular London winter temps have returned, it’s been snowing for the past 36 hours. I’m glad I was able to get out and enjoy a sneak peek of winter London, even if it was just for a day.
